# Token Utility

The Ember native token, $EMB, provides participants with an additional way to earn passive income. Users can stake their EMB and enjoy fees generated from the Protocol. In line with the decentralized nature of the Ember Protocol, the structure of the Staking Model for $EMB has been designed to decentralize and deepen the liquidity of $EMB over time.

This is achieved through pairing Protocol fees from transactions on Ember with newly minted EMB (up to the limit of 300,000,000 $EMB, equivalent to 30% of the total supply that is allocated for the Ecosystem & Staking) and distributing this liquidity to EMB stakers, meaning that the Ember Protocol and the liquidity of $EMB will be owned in the majority by holders of $EMB.

$EMB will also provide additional benefits to holders and stakers, including:

* Governance/Ember DAO Access
* Single sided staking & Protocol revenue
* Rebates/Discounts
* Access to featured launches on Ember.
